In Ukraine, the share of pensioners vaccinated against coronavirus was named
Only 25 percent of Ukrainian retirees have been vaccinated against the coronavirus, despite government efforts to expand immunization coverage. This number was named in a message published on the official website of President Volodymyr Zelensky .
According to the office of the head of state, about 11 million pensioners now live in Ukraine, however, amid a weak information campaign, less than three million of them received an injection from COVID-19. "Volodymyr Zelenskyy proposed to consider the possibility of attracting business representatives to the aforementioned information campaign Ukrposhta," the message says.
It is noted that at the same time, the proportion of civil servants and staff of administrative institutions vaccinated against coronavirus has seriously increased in the republic. The average rate of vaccinated in the relevant authorities, as assured in the office of the head of state, reached 78.8 percent. In total, 5.7 million people have received both doses of the drug from the infection to date, and 7.1 million have received one dose.
On September 17, the head of the Bureau of the World Health Organization in Ukraine, Jarno Habicht, emphasized that Ukraine is able to provide about 70 percent of its citizens with a vaccine against COVID-19, despite a significant number of opponents of vaccinations. The specialist predicted a sharp increase in the number of new infections and deaths in the republic until the end of September. He noted that the number of severe cases of the disease is also growing steadily, but at the same time, vaccination coverage in the country is still at the level of 10 percent.
